With an aim of encouraging young musicians, the Zagreb Philharmonic, traditionally since 1991, has granted the Young Musician of the Year Award. During the past 30 years, this prestigious Croatian music award has been established as an important incentive at the start of the professional careers of all former winners. The judging of this award is a stiff competition among respected candidates and representatives of the future of Croatian music, who have already achieved much. The jury, composed of renowned and distinguished persons of music and society, has hitherto never had an easy task in choosing.
