The Zagreb Philharmonic Chamber Studio

Back

The Zagreb Philharmonic Chamber Studio was founded in 1971. Under the aegis of the Zagreb Philharmonic it has provided opportunities for young members of the orchestra to perform chamber music and to become recognized as soloists. The Zagreb Philharmonic Chamber Studio had its first concert on 22 April 1971 at the Tenth Humanistic Secondary School (10th Gymnasium) in Zagreb, establishing the concept of its work in popularizing chamber music among younger audiences.
The Studio has also held concerts for regular concert audiences.

Depending on the repertory, concerts have been held at concert halls and churches in Zagreb and in other Croatian cities. Under the guidance of its concert masters, Sidonija Lebar and Martin Draušnik, and after a pause of several years, the Chamber Studio again gathers momentum.

Notable recent performances include appearances at the 49th Music Forum at Opatija, Mostar Spring Festival, St. Mark’s Festival, the musical and stage performance of The Soldier’s Tale by Igor Stravinsky, as well as appearance at the international music festival Dubrovnik in late fall with world-renowned pianist Ivo Pogorelich.
