The Orchestra has an attractive and prolific recording history; a number of brilliant concert recordings have been issued on compacts discs among which seven containing live concert recordings of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Lovro von Matacic. The Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra self-published five CDs with live concert recordings conducted by their conductor laureate for life Milan Horvat as well as five new CDs featuring Orchestra’s concerts with their other chief-conductors. The work of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra has inspired many Croatian composers, whose symphonic creations the Orchestra has not only premiered in concerts but has also preserved for posterity in many recordings (Lisinski, Bersa, Gotovac, Papandopulo, Sulek, Kelemen, Detoni, Kuljeric, Parac et al).
